At LMFS we believe in the power of shared experiences and connection. We run groups for parents, teens and children and know that with the support and interactions you will experience with other group members you will feel connected to others who are going through a similar life stage or who are experiencing similar challenges.
We are now scheduling for the following groups.
Are You the Mom You Want to Be?
This is a solution focused general parenting group structured to address parenting dilemmas as well as provide a supportive, judgement free place for parents to connect and share. This group is for moms of children of all ages and will meet weekly for 8 weeks.
Moms in Transition
This is a support group for moms whose children have recently left for college. The focus of this group is to provide a place for moms to come together to share their experiences and gain insight into the complex mix of emotions they may be experiencing as their child/children leave home and transition into adulthood. This group will meet weekly for 8 weeks.
Girls Circle
This group is for middle school girls. It is a structured 8 week group that uses the “Being A Girl” curriculum from the California based One Circle Foundation. Using a strength based model this group will focus on building self esteem, creating healthy relationships and developing a positive body image.
Parents of Children with Learning and Emotional Disorders
Parenting, in general, can be incredibly challenging but when you have a child with a disability or an impairment, the emotional impact is enormous. Fear, worry, guilt, isolation, and grief are all normal responses to learning
that your child’s development will be different than you expected. The stress that ensues can impact your health and your relationships. Connecting with other parents who understand what you are going through can be supportive and beneficial. This group will meet weekly for 8 weeks.
